Cost controls
Every Voice MCP call and every turn is checked against a per-tenant daily voice budget — when the cap is hit, the agent politely says so and ends the call.
Voice spend is bounded by a hard, per-tenant daily budget. The budget isn't just a report — it's an enforced gate on the live call path.
The daily budget gate
Every call is checked against the tenant's daily voice budget at two points:
- At answer time — when the call comes in, before the agent engages.
- On every turn — each spoken exchange is re-checked before it's processed.
Per-turn telephony cost is metered so the gate always sees an up-to-date running total for the day.
What happens when the cap is hit
When the daily budget is exhausted, the agent doesn't keep spending. It speaks a polite cap message and hangs up, rather than continuing to process turns.
Enforced, not advisory
The cap ends the call. Because the check runs at answer time and again on every turn, a single long call can't run past the budget — the next turn that would breach the cap triggers the cap message and hangup instead.
