Demo sandboxes

Spin up an isolated seeded demo workspace — sample companies, contacts, and deals from a vertical template — with a time-boxed shareable prospect link and a full archive-and-reap lifecycle.

When a prospect asks "can I see it with my kind of data?", you don't want to hand them your production tenant or a stale screenshot. A demo sandbox gives you a one-click, isolated workspace pre-populated with realistic sample data for their vertical — ready to demo and ready to share.

What a sandbox actually is

A sandbox is an isolated, seeded demo workspace. Provisioning mints a fresh, separate workspace and seeds it with sample companies, contacts, deals, and account timeline drawn from a vertical template (all tagged as seed data). It's your prospect's slice of Pact, filled with plausible data instead of blanks.

A sandbox is a seeded workspace — not new infrastructure

Provisioning creates an isolated, seeded demo workspace inside Pact — it does not spin up containers, VMs, or any separate infrastructure. Think "a fresh workspace with sample data," created in seconds, not an environment you wait on.

Each sandbox mints a time-boxed, shareable link you can hand to a prospect so they can explore on their own. The link is a randomly generated token (default TTL 72 hours) and is compared in constant time, so a stale or guessed link won't open the workspace. When the window closes, the link stops working.

Lifecycle and cost caps

Sandboxes move through a clear lifecycle — created → ready → demoed → handed-off → reaped — so you always know where each one stands. To keep sprawl and cost in check:

  • there's a cap on how many sandboxes can be active at once,
  • inactive sandboxes are archived automatically after a period,
  • and old sandboxes are reaped — their seeded data and workspace fully purged — after a longer window.

You can also archive or delete a sandbox yourself at any time.

Regulated verticals

For regulated industries, a sandbox can be provisioned with compliance depth: the seeded workspace switches on the regulatory controls and regulated-shaped evidence appropriate to the vertical, so a compliance-minded prospect sees a realistic posture rather than a generic demo. The compliance preview is deterministic — driven by the vertical's real control set, not generated.
