Migration

Switching is the easy part.

On Team and Enterprise, a named engineer maps your schema, scripts the cutover, and pairs with your team for the first two weeks live. On Pro, the in-product CSV importer and our docs cover most teams. Either way, we keep your data structure intact — accounts, contacts, deals, fields, and consent records all preserve their meaning.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — Pact opens with a 14-day Pro trial that drops into the Free plan automatically if you don't upgrade. No credit card required. The Free plan stays free as long as you're under the limits, and any reduction to those limits gets 60 days' advance notice.

What happens if I exceed my limits?

At 80% of a cap you get a heads-up — email plus an in-app banner — and the choice to (a) buy a one-time PAYG bolt-on pack for that dimension, (b) upgrade to the next plan, or (c) reduce volume. At 100% the writes that would exceed the cap stop until you pick one. Reads, exports, and history stay open the entire time. There is never a silent auto-upgrade.

Will my data be locked if I downgrade?

No. Read access to every record you've ever created stays on, on every plan including after downgrade or non-payment. Caps apply to new writes and active volume, never to history. One-click full export to CSV + JSONL works on every plan, including the Free plan and during the 30-day grace period after cancellation.

What does pay-as-you-go cost?

PAYG bolt-on packs are single-rate per metered dimension: 100k AI / MCP tokens for $5, 100k API calls for $5, 100k events for $5, 1,000 extra contacts for $20, 10 GB storage for $5. No multi-axis credit weighting and no "credit conversion ratio" we can adjust quietly later. The list lives on /pricing and any change to it gets 30 days' notice.

Can you change my plan terms later?

Free plan cap changes get 60 days' notice before they take effect. Paid plan list-price changes happen at renewal with 30 days' notice — never mid-term. Cancellation is one-click from the account page, effective immediately on monthly plans (annual plans run to the end of the term without auto-renewal).

Can I bring my own keys for encryption, email, and LLMs?

Yes, from the Team tier. BYOK encryption uses per-tenant data keys wrapped by your KMS. BYO-email supports Amazon SES, SendGrid, Postmark, and your own MTA. BYO-LLM works with OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or any custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint — billed to your account, not ours.

What does the cost-comparison tool assume?

It uses each vendor's published list price as of 2026-Q1 (sources linked under the widget). Real-world contracts are negotiated; the tool's job is to show the order-of-magnitude story, not to be a procurement quote. If you want a real quote, the Talk to sales button beats the calculator.

How does pricing work when our team grows mid-contract?

Per-seat tiers are billed monthly on actual seat count, prorated to the day. If you add a seat on the 12th of the month, you pay for 18 / 30 days that month. Plan upgrades take effect instantly with a credit for the prior plan's unused days.

What about HIPAA, SOC 2, and other compliance?

HIPAA BAA ships on Team. The data substrate carries SOC 2 Type II + HIPAA-ready attestations today via our cloud-managed database provider; Pact's own SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress with a target of 2026-Q4, and the ISO 27001 program (93 Annex-A controls) is tracked live on the Trust Center. Custom data residency (US-East, US-West, EU-West, Asia-Pacific) is included on Team and Enterprise.

Can we self-host?

On Enterprise, by arrangement. Pact runs from standard container images (the same ones that run the cloud), so a single-tenant deployment in your VPC is a scoping conversation during onboarding rather than a separate product. Talk to sales and we'll walk the architecture together.

Migration help from Salesforce or another CRM?

The Salesforce migrator is live in-product — a guided run maps accounts, contacts, deals, owners, and consent state, typically in a morning. HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close, and Apollo importers are next on the roadmap; the CSV importer covers other sources today. White-glove migration help is included on Team and Enterprise.
